# Edit Existing Posts

In this video, the instructor explains how to manage and edit blog posts you’ve already published in WordPress, using both quick tools and the full editor.

#### **1. Accessing Your Posts**

- Go to the **All Posts** screen to view a list of all your blog posts.
- Sort posts by **title** or **date**.
- Use the **search bar** to quickly find specific posts.

##### **Screen Options:**

- Control how many posts are shown per page.
- Choose which columns are displayed.
- Switch between **Compact view** (default) or **Extended view** (shows post excerpts).

#### **2. Editing Options**

Hover over a post to see action links:

- **Edit** – Opens the full post editor (to change content).
- **Quick Edit** – Inline tool to update details without opening the full editor.
- **Delete** – Move a post to Trash.
- **View** – Preview the post as visitors see it.

#### **3. Quick Edit Features**

- Change **title** and **slug (URL)**.
- Update **date and time**.
- Set a **password** (password-protected post) or mark it **private**.
- Assign or update **categories** and **tags**.
- Enable/disable **comments** and **pingbacks**.
- Change **status** (draft, published).
- Make a post **sticky** (always at the top of the blog page).
- Select a **page template** (if theme supports multiple templates).

Always click **Update** to save changes.

#### **4. Editing Content**

- To update the full content of a post: 
    - Click the **title** or the **Edit link** to open the post in the WordPress editor.
    - Make your changes, then click **Update** to save.

#### **5. Bulk Editing**

- Select multiple posts using checkboxes.
- From **Bulk Actions**, choose **Edit** and click **Apply**.
- Change categories, tags, author, templates, or other settings for multiple posts at once.
- Remove individual posts from bulk editing by clicking the **X** next to their name.

#### **6. Deleting and Restoring Posts**

- Delete posts by moving them to the **Trash**.
- Posts remain in Trash for **30 days**: 
    - You can **restore** them anytime.
    - Or delete permanently if you’re sure.
