# How to Create Your Learndash App Listing in Google Play Console

## **Introduction**

Getting your Android app into Google’s ecosystem starts with setting it up in the **Google Play Console**.

This guide walks you through creating a new app listing, naming your app, choosing its default language, defining its type and pricing, and agreeing to Google’s policies so you’re ready for publishing and testing in the next steps.

## **Navigating to the Console**

1. Go to **play.google.com/console/developers**.
2. Sign in with the **Google account** you used to register as a Google Play developer.

## **Starting Your New App**

1. On your Dashboard, click **Create app** in the top-right corner.

## **Naming Your App**

1. Enter your **App name**.
2. Click **Next**.

## **Selecting Default Language**

1. Choose your app’s **Default language** (e.g., English (United States)).
2. Click **Next**.

## **Specifying App Type & Pricing**

1. Under **What type of app is this?**, select **App** (not Game).
2. Under **Pricing**, choose **Free** or **Paid**.

**Note:** You can change pricing up until your app is published.

3. Click **Next**.

## **Agreeing to Google’s Policies**

1. Check **Developer Program Policies**.
2. Check **US export laws**.
3. Click **Create app**.

## **Next Steps**

You’ve now created your **app shell**. Next, complete your **Store listing details**, upload graphics, and configure in-app products. See our Google Play Publishing tutorials for detailed guidance.

## **Troubleshooting and FAQs**

**Q: Why is the “Create app” button disabled?
A: Ensure you’ve entered an app name, selected a default language, chosen the app type, and set pricing. All required fields must be completed.

**Q: Can I change my app name or default language later?
A: Yes. Go to **Store setup > Main store listing** to make changes.

**Q: I set my app to Paid but now want it Free — can I change it?
A: Before publishing, yes — go to **Monetize > Pricing & distribution** and switch to Free. After publishing a paid app, you cannot convert it to free.

**Q: Why can’t I see my distribution regions yet?
A: Distribution regions are set under **Release > Production > Countries/regions**, not during initial app setup.

**Q: Where do I add screenshots and descriptions?
A: After creating your app, go to **Store setup > Main store listing** to upload graphics and enter descriptions.

**Q: Do I need to upload an app file (AAB) now?
A: No, you can create your app listing first and upload your build later when you’re ready to publish or test.
