# The Events Calendar 4.9.6

We are excited to announce that we just shipped a maintenance release for **The Events Calendar**! This release features [Event Aggregator](https://docs.nexcess.com/software/the-events-calendar/getting-started-with-event-aggregator/) support for Meetup’s new authentication protocol, which involves a switch from API keys to [OAuth2](https://oauth.net/2/). What does this mean for you? After updating, you will need to reconnect to Meetup under **Events** > **Settings** > **APIs** or from the event import screen. That is all! **To avoid any disruptions in service, we recommend updating to OAuth as soon as possible.**
