Our [last release](https://docs.nexcess.com/software/the-events-calendar/release-notes-the-events-calendar-release-the-events-calendar-4-1-premium-add-ons/) went out two weeks ago, and we were able to pack in a whopping **twenty-seven tweaks and bug fixes** since then that will help make your calendars and events management systems that much better. As always, we encourage you to [safely backup](https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups) your WordPress files and database before updating. We expect a smooth update for those of you already running 4.1 or higher, but it’s a good practice to backup anyway. And for those of you running earlier versions of the plugins, please review [our release notes](https://www.liquidweb.com/category/products/release-notes/) because breaking changes were introduced in both 4.0 and 4.1.
