# Virtual Events 1.8.0

### Summary

Feature Release

This updated version of Virtual Events brings a new Smart URL field with several new features.

As always, we recommend updating on a [staging site](https://docs.nexcess.com/software/the-events-calendar/creating-and-using-a-wordpress-staging-site/), just to be safe, but it should all be smooth sailing.

#### ✨ New

New features included in this release:

- Updated the video field to the new ‘Smart’ URL field to autodetect a video source using Oembed.
- Users can now connect existing Zoom Meetings or Webinars to their events using the new ‘Smart’ URL field.
- Added a feature to display Facebook Videos using the new ‘Smart’ URL field.
- Added support for Virtual Event fields in the CSV importer.

#### ✅ Fixed

Bugs that were squashed in this release:

- Now you can display the Zoom video icon when linked button is disabled.
- PHP notices show when creating Zoom events in PHP (5.6) and WP minimums (4.9.x).
- Added a check utilizing the “show to” field to prevent the Zoom links from being added to the export file.
- Ensured the virtual event details aren’t duplicated in the single events page on the block editor.
- Enabled webinars on accounts using the Zoom Event account type.

A few tweaks we made under the hood:

- Always show a search field for the Zoom Account, Host, and Alternative Host dropdown fields.
