How to Find and Share Your System Information

What is System Information?

System Information (or a System Status Report) is a diagnostic snapshot of your WordPress installation and hosting environment.

As a site owner, you can use this report to quickly review your server configurations, check software versions, and understand your site’s overall environment. Additionally, support teams use this report to troubleshoot unexpected plugin behavior, compatibility conflicts, and server limitations without requiring direct access to your login credentials.

What is Included in a System Information Report?

  • WordPress Environment: Core version, Site/Home URL, multisite status, active theme, and WordPress memory limit (WP_MEMORY_LIMIT).
  • Server Configuration: PHP version, MySQL/MariaDB version, PHP memory limit, maximum execution time, and active PHP extensions (cURL, OpenSSL, etc.).
  • Plugin Inventory: A full list of active plugins (and often inactive plugins) alongside their exact version numbers.
  • Plugin-Specific Diagnostics: License activation statuses, payment gateway settings, active template overrides, and error log excerpts (depending on the plugin).

Data Privacy & Security Note: System Info reports are strictly read-only diagnostics. They do not modify your site settings, nor do they expose sensitive credentials, credit card details, customer passwords, or private API/encryption keys.

How to Update Values in Your System Information

Because the System Information report is a read-only snapshot, you cannot edit or change any values directly from the report itself.

If you review your diagnostics and spot a value that needs to be updated, you must navigate to the correct settings area to apply the change:

  • Server & Environment Values: Settings such as your PHP version, PHP memory limit, and max execution time must be updated through your hosting control panel (e.g., the Nexcess Client Portal).
  • Plugin Configurations: Settings such as license keys, active add-ons, and payment gateways must be modified directly in the plugin’s settings menu in your WordPress dashboard.

After updating the settings in the correct location, you can refresh or regenerate your System Information report to confirm that the new values are active.

How to Locate Your System Information

Follow the steps below for the specific plugin you are troubleshooting or reviewing:

1. Give

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to GiveWP > Tools.
  2. Select the System Info tab at the top of the screen.
  3. Click the Get System Report button.
  4. Click inside the text area (or press Ctrl+A / Cmd+A to select all text).
  5. Copy and paste the entire text block into your support ticket, or save it for your own records.

2. The Events Calendar

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Events > Troubleshooting.
  2. Scroll down to the System Information section.
3. Choose one of the two sharing options:
    • For Automatic Sharing, check the box labeled “Yes, automatically share my system information with the Support Team”.
    • For Manual Copy, click on the “Copy to clipboard” button, then paste it directly into your support ticket or save it locally.

3. LearnDash

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to LearnDash LMS > Settings.
  2. Select the Support tab from the top menu.
  3. On the right-hand side of your screen, locate the Copy System Info section.
  4. Click the Download or Copy button to copy the system information.

4. Kadence

The Kadence WP theme relies on native WordPress diagnostics. In addition, if an admin error or menu conflict prevents you from reaching a specific plugin settings page, use WordPress Site Health:

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Tools > Site Health.
  2. Click the Info tab near the top.
  3. Click the Copy site info to clipboard button.
  4. Paste the copied contents into your support ticket reply or a safe document on your computer.
